FIGHTING FOR THE NORTHWEST BRONX
Campaign Platform
In the coming weeks, the campaign will roll out detailed policy proposals related to each of the following areas impacting the 81st Assembly District
Affordability Agenda
Housing
Working families who are both renters and co-op owners are being crushed by out-of-control fees from a building maintenance crisis.
One of the most pressing in the district is the existential threat to the historic Amalgamated Houses in Van Cortlant Village. Morgan will work to save the nation's first cooperative and affordable housing model that's facing financial and structural demise.
Childcare
Bronx families have the least affordable childcare in New York, with many parents paying almost half of their salaries and wages toward it.
Morgan knows the struggle firsthand. She and her husband were in debt for five years after paying for childcare on credit cards. Morgan will prioritize bringing safe, affordable childcare to the Northwest Bronx centering equitable access to quality care and early education.
Local Economy
The vitality of our local businesses and their ability to stay open should be equally a state priority as it is the city's.

Storefront safety initiatives and state programs that help businesses thrive will be a top priority. Morgan is working to address the most critical needs impacting the local economy throughout the district. It will involve including new immigrant small businesses and merchants to have a voice.
Disability Rights
Morgan is calling for state legislative action in response to the Trump administration’s attacks on disability rights. The Department of Justice removed nearly a dozen Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance guidance for businesses this year. These moves are promises to roll back enforcement of the ADA including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act–federal civil rights protections for educational services and programs for the disabled that receive funding from the U.S. Department of Education. The Trump administration has shown that they are capable of delivering Project 2025's mission to gut the ADA and dismantle the Department of Education.
Immigrant Rights
There must be a stronger state response to the limitless evil and cruelty that we are seeing daily across the state and in the Bronx as masked and armed men in unmarked cars terrorize our neighbors.
Morgan has organized rapid response trainings in the Northwest Bronx for community members to learn how to respond to the presence of ICE.

She is a strong advocate for the legislature to pass the MELT ACT, which would prohibit federal immigration enforcement agents, including those from ICE, from wearing masks or operating in plainclothes during civilian immigration actions.
Healthcare &
Maternal Health
Whether it's addressing the healthcare worker shortage or calling for additional investments in developmental healthcare clinics, Morgan is working on a comprehensive plan that will address growing concerns of high insurance premiums, obstacles with prior authorizations and a state response to the dangerous and politicized agenda of the new U.S. Department of Health.
As a woman who suffered post-partum hemorrhaging after medical professionals didn't believe her concerns during pregnancy, Morgan will work to lower maternal mortality, especially among women of color.
